Spectacular Summer Showcase
Spectrum Community Arts made took over the stage on the 2nd of July, performing their summer showcase at Vandyke Upper School! The performers, aged between 4 and 56 performed fantastically and were met with a thunderous standing ovation at the end of the show!
Spectrum’s dancers proudly showed off a huge range of dances to the community. The Sensory Movers waved their pirate flags and danced to a catchy pirate song, Adult Movers boogied to BTS’ “Dynamite” and Junior Movers showed the audience who’s boss by dancing to Little Mix’s “Power”!
The performers enjoyed going on the stage, with many saying they were happy and proud, and saying they couldn’t wait until the next showcase! One performer said “Before I went on stage I felt a little bit scared, but now I want to do it all over again. It was lots of fun and everyone clapped for me at the end!”
All of the audience members were proud of the performers’ hard work; many of the parents found it heartfelt and amazing!
Here’s what Nigel, Chair of Leighton-Linslade Arts Forum, had to say: “I really enjoyed the event and found it quite emotional at times as well. It was obvious everyone involved was having a good time, the smiles said it all and the audience's enjoyment was clear to hear and see. Well done to you and the team thank you for the invite!”
This showcase was an amazing comeback to live performances for Spectrum and hopefully, we will be on the stage again for next year’s showcase. Until then, we will see you all again in September!
